Hermitage Green pledge campaign culminates with EP launch party
By ilovelimerick correspondent Frances Watkins
Limerick bands Hermitage Green pledge campaign is in its final 10 days. The fund-it campaign is in order to raise money for the band’s latest EP. The band are releasing their new album independently and would appreciate all the help they can get with the Hermitage Green pledge campaign.
The band would like to stress that they are not asking people to donate but instead are offering people the chance to pre-order the album, purchase merchandise and even have the chance to book a private house party with you, your friends and family.
The biggest incentive for fans is the EP launch party which takes place in Dance Limerick at Daghdha Church in St John’s square on Friday 15th September.
There are a small number of tickets left priced at €69. For the ticket, you get a full intimate gig, the first ever performance of their new EP, a copy of the EP, free food from Camille Thai restaurant, free drink and an after party in Tuscany/Habitat at the Granary in Limerick.
The five-man band from Limerick play a unique blend of acoustic folk-rock and formed as a band in 2010 after a spontaneous jam session among friends. They quickly built up a large following through social media and a busy round of gigs, and debut EP ‘The Gathering’ reached number 1 in the Irish iTunes charts in September 2012.
A world tour followed and in 2013, the band self-released a Live at Whelan’s album. In 2015, they signed to Sony Music Ireland and released two singles ‘Jenny’ and ‘Quicksand’ which were hugely successful.
Their instruments include the bodhrán, djembe, rhythm guitar and banjo and their sets feature a blend of bluegrass and trad, with fast-paced African percussion and four-part vocal harmony.
Tickets for the EP launch for the Hermiate Green pledge campaign are on sale on their PledgeMusic page here.
