The Association of Irish Choirs is delighted to announce an eclectic programme of choral singing for its 2017 season.
Under the expert artistic direction of Greg Beardsell, Irish Youth Choir continues to go from strength to strength with 80 members in total last year. Greg Beardsell is building a reputation as one of the most exciting choral conductors to work with young people internationally and has conducted The Irish Youth Choir since 2008.
During the residential course, members participate in a daily routine of physical and vocal warm-ups, sectional and full choir rehearsals – a complete singing experience! Sports and recreational activities are organised as part of the course.
The Irish Youth Choir seeks singers to audition countrywide, aged between 18 and 28 applicants for the Irish Youth Choir Auditions must be available from Sunday 25th June – Monday 3rd July inclusive.
What the singers say:
“One of the highlights of my time in the Irish Youth Choir has been the wonderful variety of music that we have the privilege of studying and performing…we have been introduced to an exciting repertoire that has changed the way I perceive certain genres of music.”
IYC Soprano 2012–13
“IYC is much more than a choir; it was the first time in my life I had the opportunity to meet and befriend people who loved to sing as much as I do. I’ve built some wonderful memories and made some fantastic friends for life, none of which would have been possible without this amazing group.”
