Judi Curtin, Limerick’s beloved children’s author has released her newest book ‘Stand By Me’.
This is the second book in the Time after Time series, a series which follows two time travelling best friends and their adventures with family, friendship and love.
The book was named as Children’s Book of the Year (Senior) at the Bord Gáis Energy Irish Book Awards 2017 in Dublin.
Judi Curtin lives in Limerick and has been catapulted her in to every children’s library in Ireland and throughout the world due to her much-loved books featuring Alice and Megan about friendship and discovery.
The book follows Molly and Beth and their favourite uncle. What if something happened long ago that still makes you sad? Graham is Molly and Beth’s favourite uncle, so they really want to help him fix the past – and since the girls know of a mysterious door that can take them back in time, maybe they can! But how can they find who they’re looking for without apps or social media? And what will the girls make of the 60s, where the hairstyles are wild, the slang is weird and no one’s heard of ciabatta?
And can they help Graham fix a friendship that was destroyed back in 1960? The girls soon discover that fun with friends is just the same whatever time you live in and that real friendship lasts forever – even when you’re apart.
Judi Curtin was born in London however she moved to Cork at the age of eight and now lives in Limerick. She studies English and German in UCC and later trained as a primary school teacher in Dublin. After years of teaching Judi decided to revisit her childhood dream of becoming a writer.
She started writing in 1999 with her first novel hitting the shelves in 2003 and her first children’s novel was published in 2005.
