Aspiring Artists Showcase New Work at VTOS Limerick Art Craft Design Open Day 2018
Art, Craft and Design learners undertaking the VTOS programme with Limerick and Clare Education and Training Board at the new state-of-the-art Further Education and Training Centre, Kilmallock Road Campus, invite you to the VTOS Limerick Art Craft Design Open Day 2018, a one-day exhibition of their artwork on Tuesday, May 29th from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm. The work will showcase a range of paintings, drawings, crafts, designs, and photography and represents just a selection of the total creative output of the learners over the past year.
Commenting, Course Leader Jayne Foley, said – “It’s exciting for us to show this work as it’s so important for any artist to have their work viewed by the public. In essence, a public viewing is the final element in the creative process and this gives the learners the chance to gauge that reaction.” Jayne continued – “We start out the course in September and the learners develop their skills through equal measures of hard work and encouragement, both from the staff and from each other. At the end of the term, we showcase some of the work and this allows others who may be interested in the course to see what we are about.”
If you are interested in working in the creative industries, this course could be your first step in moving on to Third Level Art Craft Design courses. This year the course introduced web design for Art Craft Design which has provided learners with even greater possibilities to promote and market their work. The recent addition of an Apple Mac and Adobe Creative Suite will further enhance the course.
The VTOS Limerick Art Craft Design Open Day 2018 exhibition takes place in the Art Studio at the Further Education and Training Centre, Kilmallock Road Campus. There will also be an opportunity for the public to view the newly refurbished former St Enda’s building now a vibrant, creative learning hub operated by Limerick and Clare Education and Training Board.
Anyone interested is invited to come along to see the work, and the building, and to talk to current learners. If you are interested in enrolling in the course, we can provide you with more information on the day, as well as some light refreshments!
