3 for 3 Breast Cancer Awareness Walk 2022 to take place Sunday, October 2
3 for 3 2022 – the goal of this year’s walk is €45,000 which will purchase much-needed theatre equipment.
3 for 3 Breast Cancer Awareness Walk has raised over €68,000 since it began in 2018

The annual Hook and Ladder 3 for 3 Breast Cancer Awareness Walk 2022 is due to take place Sunday, October 2 from 3pm to 5pm. The charity event enters its third year of fundraising for the local Symptomatic Breast Cancer Unit in University Hospital Limerick. The walk will begin at Arthurs Quay and Park and will the three bridges of Limerick will be incorporated throughout the 3km walk.

The walk began in Limerick city in 2018, raising €12,000 in its first year. The event has since raised over €68,000. Last years walk proved to be a huge success, as hundreds braved the wet and stormy weather to walk together in aid of breast cancer.
The concept of the 3 for 3 Breast Cancer Awareness walk was developed by Catherine Moloney, who started her journey in the Breast Unit in the University Hospital Limerick in 2014. Caroline wanted to create a participant-driven initiative that would give back to the brilliant work the Symptomatic Breast unit does for its patients.
Catherine said, “I am acutely aware of the impact breast cancer can have personally, and also on family and friends. Thankfully, I overcame and fought it and I am forever grateful to the Symptomatic Breast Unit.”
The walk created an opportunity for the people of Limerick and beyond to physically get involved in the fundraising for this great cause with over 800 people making their way to Limerick City to take part in the walk.
If you want to get involved but are unable to participate in the walk on October 2, you can make a donation of your chosen amount online. Merchandise is also available to buy such as 3 for 3 branded hats and t-shirts and umbrellas will be available to buy soon.
Registration for 3 for 3 is €15 and children can attend free of charge.
