Limerick Folk Musician Paul Dunworth has released his new EP ”The House of Donn” on Bandcamp following positive reviews on his previous releases.
”The House of Donn’ concludes a trilogy of EPs released by the Newcastle West folk artist Paul Dunworth with the previous releases ‘Through A Forest’ and ‘Echoes’ receiving favourable reviews.
Within Irish Mythology ”Donn” is said to have been the God of the Dead who resided in Tech Duinn, The house of Donn or The house of the Dark one. As a Guardian of the Dead ”Donn” is depicted as overseeing the souls of the departed, ensuring their safe passage to the otherworld.
This EP details Darker elements of morbid fascination; tales of inner turmoil, addiction, regret, isolation, and fear which are mirrored in the slow guitar strumming and plucking with the haunting melody of Paul’s voice throughout the track.
Paul Dunworth is a Modern Folk Artist from Newcastle West, Limerick whose colourful arrangements are built on a contrast between raw passionate vocals and melodic guitar accompaniments.
