Anatomy Lab LIVE

Anatomy Lab LIVE 2019 comes to Limerick bigger and better than ever, offering the chance to step into the role of a surgeon and learn about the anatomical structures of the human body through the eyes of a doctor.

The worlds only LIVE human body dissection ‘Anatomy Lab Live 2019’ comes to Limerick

With the tour currently underway and having already been to Glasgow, Edinburgh, Birmingham, London, Manchester and Liverpool, Anatomy Lab LIVE is returning and offering a surgical spin on dinner and dissection Sunday April 28. The nationally acclaimed dinner and dissection experience attracted headlines around the world and after two amazing sell-out tours, they’re back for 2019, bigger and better than before!

The 2019 event focuses on surgery and the corrective intervention methods used to treat pathology. Attendees will learn the mechanism of diseases and how this affects the gross anatomy as you gown up ready for the live theatre working on real specimens. Following a 2 course meal, the theatre drapes will go up and allow you to step into the role of a surgeon and learn about the anatomical structures of the human body through the eyes of a doctor.  Structures that can be dissected include The head & brain, the spinal cord, the lungs, the heart and the digestive tract.

The one of a kind event also offers a unique chance to follow a complete surgical procedure from start to finish, observing and dissecting real anatomical specimens. The level of content is undergraduate and offers an excellent CPD refresher for current healthcare practitioners and is open to the public too.

Anatomy Lab LIVE

Anatomy Lab LIVE offers an in-depth study of anatomy, physiology and pathology for everyone, whether you are part of the general public, at the undergraduate level or are an already practising healthcare professional.

Anatomy Lab LIVE delivers in-depth content aimed at those studying anatomy, physiology or pathology at an undergraduate level and for those who are already practising healthcare professionals. The event is also a great experience for any person who is interested in the human body, disease or medicine on the whole. The wider general public are also encouraged to attend.

Sarah Morgan, a student nurse at Worcester University, said “I attended the event in 2017 to deepen my understanding of how the human body works. The event was fascinating. Having had the opportunity to see real organ systems be dissected and handling the samples was something I’ll never forget. As a student nurse, I can now visualise the different parts of the body and it has greatly improved my understanding of the diseases the patients I read present with. I feel I can better help my patients as a result of attending this event.”

Samuel Piri, Anatomist, Teacher and Programme Director mentioned all the hard work put into Anatomy Lab Live 2019. “We’re really excited to be back with the surgery tour in 2019. We’ve worked hard to respond to everybody’s feedback and requests and the ‘The Surgery’ is definitely going to be exciting. A perfect blend of infotainment that will promise an unforgettable night like never before. We urge you to get your tickets as soon as possible as the last two tours have sold out within a few days! ”

Tickets can be purchased online via the Anatomy Lab LIVE website, with standard tickets costing €89.00, NHS/HSE and NUS tickets at €80.00, and group tickets for €1040 that include 10 people, a prosecco reception, upgraded nitrile glove packs, Anatomy lab live notebook and pencils.
