The first in the Ballyhoura Active Series took place on Sunday, May 28 in Banteer. The race was organised by Mount Hillary AC, in partnership with Ballyhoura Development. The “fast and furious” 5 miler race began at 10 am with just over 200 runners through the picturesque village of Banteer, and Anthony Mannix came in first place for the men at a time of 26 minutes, with the first woman, Carol Flinn, coming in at 31 minutes, both from Leevale AC.

 The Ballyhoura Active series has seven runs this season, taking place around the Limerick and Cork area. These events start with Moreabbey Milers on May 10 at 7.30pm. Further dates include May 17 at Buttevant AC 8:15 pm, May 24 at Kilmallock AC at 7:30 pm, June 7  Kilfinnane 7:30 pm, June 14 Bilboa 8 pm and concluding on June 21 at Shandrum AC 7:30 pm.
