A number of mentoring sessions have also been successfully organised over the past year. Clive Bellows, Executive Vice President of Corporate and Institutional Services at Northern Trust delivered the first leadership talk of the series to members of the Mid-West business community as part of the Limerick Chamber Regional Leaders’ programme. The programme is being delivered by Limerick Chamber in collaboration with Dell EMC and the University of Limerick.

Bellows address marked the launch of the 2018 series of leadership talks that have been hosted at the Dell EMC campus in Limerick since early 2017.

Denis Kelly, Site Leader, Dell EMC Limerick said: “At Dell EMC we are focused on giving people the leadership skills that they need to fulfil both their own potential while also ensuring at all times that we deliver for our customers. The Limerick Chamber Regional Leaders’ Programme is invaluable for the company owners and managers who participate. They get to learn key leadership skills and traits from people who have a proven track record of success working across a broad range of industries and organisations. Programmes like the Regional Leaders’ Programme help to equip future leaders from across the mid-west with the skills and importantly with a network of people that they can learn from and share ideas with. As one of the area’s largest employers, we feel we have a responsibility to work closely with the companies in our community to help them to grow and thrive and to help them build long-term, sustainable businesses.

“Dell EMC is delighted to support the programme again this year and I look forward to learning from some great business leaders and having the opportunity to share experiences and learnings.”

The first speaker of the series, Clive Bellows joined Northern Trust in 2011. As a member of the Northern Trust European Management Committee and Head of GFS EMEA, Clive also has overall responsibility for leading the company’s Irish operations in Dublin and Limerick. As part of managing Northern Trust’s expanding and evolving servicing offering, he played a key role in ensuring the smooth integration of Northern Trust Securities Services (Ireland) Ltd following the acquisition of Bank of Ireland Securities Services in 2011. Clive is an ex-President of the Irish Chamber of Commerce and is also a serving Board member of the Irish U.S. Council, Basis.point charity and Chambers Ireland.

Clive Bellows, Executive Vice President of Corporate & Institutional Services, Northern Trust commented: “It’s great to be part of this programme that brings the business community in the Mid-West together. In my career over the past 30 years, I have experienced many different types of leaders and various techniques can work for different people. For me, leadership is not about a title or a designation but more about impact, influence and inspiration. It’s about helping your team to become leaders and not just followers. I hope to have motivated today’s participants to become impactful, influential and inspirational leaders in their businesses.”

On behalf of University o Limerick, Dr Philip O’Regan, Dean of Kemmy Business School said: “We are delighted to be involved in what we consider to be a very innovative and imaginative approach to leadership. In particular, we like the combination of inspirational speakers and mentor groups where participants can explore issues with their peers.”

James Ring, CEO, Limerick Chamber said: “We are very pleased to have Dell EMC on board again this year. As an industry leader, they are a perfect fit as a partner. Clive Bellows leadership insights today were indispensable to our participants and have no doubt left our participants inspired and ambitious to grow their own businesses. We’ll be announcing the next speaker in the series in coming weeks.”
