Jean Ryan is celebrating the establishment of the Eye Photo Studio in his gallery on Liddy Street (opposite Arthur’s Quay) with a new art exhibition called ‘The Gift’. ‘The Gift’ will be opened on August 12 at 6:30pm. It will be opened by Gerry McLoughlin and Rachy P will be entertaining the crowd with live music.
‘The Gift’ is a selection of paintings done by the extremely talented Jean Ryan which will be reduced in price by up to 70 percent. The admission to the exhibition is free and everyone is welcome to attend. Guests will be welcomed with a wine reception.
“I called it ‘The Gift’ because it is my gift to the people of Limerick. I love Limerick people and they’ve always supported my art. When I look back, if it weren’t for the Limerick people I wouldn’t be who I am today.” said Jean Ryan.

Jean Ryan has been living in Limerick for the past 13 years, originally it was to just meet a friend who lived here. When locals found out that he was an artist and the amazing talent he has, they grew an interest in his work and so he remained in Limerick.
When thinking of something to paint, Jean Ryan told I love Limerick that everything inspires him. “I’m inspired most by nature and people’s ideas. I like showing people my art because I like having a second opinion on it; that way they can interpret it and see it in their own way. It might inspire me to paint what they see. The more opinions you draw in, the better you can become as an artist in my opinion.”
On top of being an artist, Jean also offers the people of Limerick art classes at 25 euro per session. If you’d like to attend, you need to bring your own canvas, brushes and paints. Ten classes are recommended for beginners and when you book ten classes you get them for 200 euro and save 50.
“The Gift’ will be opened until September 3 in Jean Ryan’s Gallery on Liddy Street. Do check it out and support Jean Ryan’s art.
