A wonderful night of musical entertainment is promised at the Limerick Shannon Rotary Club Gala Concert in aid of St Vincent de Paul – Limerick Branch, at the Green Hills Hotel, Ennis Rd, Limerick on Friday, November 4. 2016 at 8 p.m.

The glittering event will feature Liam O Brien and the Million Dollar Swing Band. Liam is most well known for his several years playing Ethan in ITV’s Emmerdale, but is also one of Ireland’s leading singers in the swing and crooning style. He played Dean Martin in the West End’s The Rat Pack touring the UK, Europe and USA – a highlight being singing to a capacity crowd at the Royal Albert Hall, London. His band features well-known Limerick musicians David Irwin, John Daly, Peter Hangan and Bryan Meehan and special guests on the evening include the wonderful Limerick songstress Ciara Meade.

The Society of St. Vincent de Paul (SVP) was founded in Ireland in 1844. It is the largest voluntary charitable organisation in Ireland.  During its history, it has helped people in need through a Famine, a Civil War, a War of Independence, two World Wars and several economic recessions.

In addition to providing direct assistance to those in need, caring for the homeless, providing social housing, operating holiday homes and other social support activities, the Society promotes community self-sufficiency, enabling people to help themselves. Any assistance offered by the Society is given in a non-judgemental spirit , based on the needs of the individual or family seeking help.

The Limerick Shannon Rotary Club was founded in 1963 and currently has over 20 members. Members of the Limerick Shannon Rotary Club can use their time, talents, professional skills and energy to improve the lives of people in local communities and around the world.
