Fidget Feet (8)Running from May 2 to 5, Riverfest delivers Limerick’s busiest weekend of the year. Attendances for this year’s event are expected to be the largest ever thanks to heightened interest due to Limerick National City of Culture 2014. Free by Fidget Feet – a spectacular performance by Ireland’s leading aerial dance company took place at Arthur’s Quay on Sunday, May 4, at 2 and 5pm. 

Originating from Donegal, Fidget Feet Aerial Dance Theatre is an internationally renowned company that is one of Ireland’s own. Ireland’s leading aerial dance theatre company create spectacular indoor and outdoor productions nationally and internationally for both theatres and festivals with their dynamic productions draw on dance, aerial circus, theatre, music and video art. While they specialize in aerial dance, they also create contemporary circus with both beauty and depth whilst always remaining accessible and entertaining. Founded in 2004 by choreographer Chantal McCormick(Donegal) and musician Jym Daly (Cork), they work with an outstanding production team to create work that is both original and fresh.

Richard is a presenter, producer, songwriter and actor. He was named the Limerick Person of the Year (2011) and won an online award at the Metro Éireann Media and Multicultural Awards (2011) for promoting multi-culturalism online. Richard says that the ilovelimerick.com concept is very much a community driven project that aims to document life in Limerick. So, that in 20 years time people can look back and remember the events that were making the headlines.
