Volunteer with Make-A-Wish for Wish Day 2017

The Make-A-Wish Wish Day 2017 is taking place on Friday, March 31.

Make-A-Wish Ireland began in 1992 and grant the wishes to children aged between 3 and 17 years living with life-threatening medical conditions. Make-A-Wish have granted over 1,800 wishes in Ireland and provide respite to children from their normal routines of hospitals, doctors and treatment. The Make-A-Wish has granted over 1,800 wishes in Ireland.

Last year, Make-A-Wish granted 209 wishes for children aged between 3 and 17 years living with a life-threatening illness, which is 20% more wishes than the previous year and Wish Day played a big part in this. Wish Day 2016 has been the most successful Wish Day to date, raising over €86,000. This year, Make-A-Wish are hoping to raise over €100,000 through their Wish Day 2017. This year, Make-A-Wish are also celebrating their 2,000 wish in Ireland as well as 25 years in Ireland.

With Wish Day going into its fifth year in Ireland, Wish Day 2017 will be taking place on Friday, March 31. Wish Day 2017 will be starting at 9 am in the Crescent Shopping Centre in Limerick as well as various locations throughout Limerick. Cartoon characters will be joining the Make-A-Wish volunteers in the Crescent Shopping Centre on Wish Day 2017.

Make-A-Wish are appealing to the public to support their biggest fundraising event by buying a wristband from your local volunteers, by organising a coffee morning, bake sale or a jersey day in your workplace or by making a one-off €2 donation by text. Make-A-Wish is also appealing for volunteers to help out at the Wish Day 2017. The nature of the Nature of the volunteer roles and responsibilities include selling bands and pegs at a collection point or at a shopping centre. The Wish Day 2017 Limerick locations include Tesco Superstore in Abbeyfeale, Crescent Shopping Centre in Dooradoyle, Arthurs Quay Shopping Centre, Dealz in Bedford Row, Dunnes Stores in Childers Road, Tesco Superstores on Coonagh Cross, Parkway Shopping Centre, Dealz on Willian Street, Tesco Superstore in Newcastle West, Tesco Superstore in Roxboro and Tesco Express on Shannon Banks.
