Interior design business Irish Girl in Brooklyn Wreath workshop in aid of Novas
Irish Girl in Brooklyn, a new Limerick based interior design business is hosting a wreath workshop on Saturday, December 8, in aid of Novas.
Novas is a voluntary organisation working with single adults, families, and children who are disadvantaged and socially excluded; primarily those who are homeless or at risk of being homeless. They are also an Approved Housing Body who provide social housing for low-income families and single adults in local communities throughout Ireland.
The event takes place from 10 am to 12:30 pm at the Novas’ Head Office, 87 O’Connell Street, and costs €50 with including Christmas treats and hot drinks. Each participant will take home a beautiful and unique wreath for the Christmas season.
Irish Girl in Brooklyn is a new lifestyle brand specialising in homeware, interiors, and floral design founded by Amanda Sawyer. The business is inspired by Amanda’s own life and she moved back home to Limerick after spending more than 30 years in New York.
Amanda graduated from the FlowerSchool New York and now, along with her sister Siobhan, is offering floral creations for homes, events, and weddings which they have branded Irish Girl Flowers.
Una Burns, Head of Policy and Communications at Novas said: “We are delighted to be working with Amanda and Siobhan and very grateful that they chose Novas as the beneficiary of the Wreath Workshop. It promises to be a wonderfully festive occasion that will raise vital funds for our frontline services in the city.”
Speaking of the initiative, Amanda Sawyer said: “Christmas is all about giving and giving back. We are glad to introduce the workshop with Novas.”
Amanda’s love for interiors, art and furniture began years ago with flea markets, graduating later to auctions and design shows. Her passion is in antiques, Mid-Century furniture and lighting which is reflected in the beautiful pieces she has collected for resale.
If you would like to reserve a place on the workshop you can call into Novas Head Office on 87 O’Connell Street or the Irish Girl in Brooklyn showroom, which is situated on the 1st Floor, 13 Thomas Street, Limerick (access via Little Catherine Street). Places are limited to 20, so pre-booking is essential. For anyone interested in interiors, crafts or wishing to participate in a festive activity with friends or family, this is just the workshop for you.
