Though his untimely passing in 2015 left a void, his memory lives on through this event, which stands as a testament to his remarkable legacy. Described as friendly and good-humoured, Michal touched the lives of many, inspiring all who knew him to chase their dreams with unwavering dedication.

Hosted by Dooneen A.C., the Michal Rejmer Memorial 10-mile road race isn’t just a race—it’s an experience. Starting at the picturesque Limerick Racecourse, participants will embark on a scenic route towards Patrickswell and Raheen before winding through the tranquil countryside of Lemonfield and Crecora then heading to the finish area at Limerick Racecourse for refreshments and prize giving. As the only timed 10-mile road race held annually in Limerick, this event offers runners a unique opportunity to challenge themselves and soak in the vibrant spirit of the local community.

The 10-mile road run will be chip-timed and is the perfect event for those looking to prepare for the Great Limerick Run in May and preparing for the Dublin City Marathon and other Autumn races.

As runners cross the finish line, the first 500 participants will be celebrated with bespoke medals, a testament to their dedication and perseverance. Additionally, a substantial prize fund totalling over €2,000 awaits the top performers, including awards for the fastest male and female athletes in various age categories.

The race is proudly sponsored by HOMS Assist, a leading national legal firm with offices in Limerick, Cork and Dublin with a deep commitment to supporting local sports and community initiatives. As a dedicated participant in the World Marathon Majors, Robert Bourke, Partner at HOMS Assist, brings a personal touch to the sponsorship.

Robert’s passion for running and his admiration for Michal’s legacy make this sponsorship particularly meaningful for him. Reflecting on the significance of the event, Robert shares, “I understand the dedication and spirit required to excel in the sport. Supporting the Michal Rejmer Memorial 10-mile road race is not just about sponsorship—it’s about honouring the memory of a remarkable individual and inspiring others to pursue their passion for running.
