Analog Devices Hosts BT Young Scientist ‘Homecoming’ for Limerick Students

Analog Devices Inc host a special BT Young Scientist & Technology Exhibition celebration for Limerick participants

Analog Devices Inc (ADI) recently hosted a special celebration event to acknowledge the achievements of students and schools from the Limerick region who participated in the BT Young Scientist & Technology Exhibition (BTYSTE).

As a gold sponsor of the BT Young Scientist & Technology Exhibition since 2000, ADI organised the homecoming event to celebrate the bright talent in the region and to continue to inspire students to pursue careers in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM).

All 13 Limerick schools that participated in BTYSTE last January were invited to the event, where students had the opportunity to explore various career paths in STEM and gain insights into the exciting projects undertaken by Analog Devices.

Attendees included Taha Njie and Aidan Oscar from Coláiste Chiaráin in Croom, Co. Limerick, who won the Analog Devices Technology Award at BTYSTE 2024 for their project, PORTANOS. Their innovation, a portable and affordable 3D-printed ECG machine, offers reliable cardiac monitoring, enhancing healthcare accessibility with precision, cost-effectiveness, and ease of use.

Congratulations were extended to Seán O’Sullivan from Coláiste Chiaráin for his outstanding achievement in winning the coveted overall 1st prize at the BTYSTE of the Year 2024 for his project VerifyMe: A new approach to authorship attribution in the post-ChatGPT era.

The evening featured a panel discussion with students and teachers about their experience along with presentations from young ADI engineers, providing students with a firsthand look at the innovative projects shaping the future of technology.
