Aisling created this new exhibition as a follow-up to her 2021 exhibition, ‘The Right Thing’ which was displayed in The Hunt Museum. Aisling is a Limerick native and a proud past pupil of the Limerick School of Art and Design.

Aisling began to explore and document her own subjective existence of coming out of the covid-19 lockdown restrictions. It sparked something in the artist when previous visitors of her last exhibition expressed to her that the paintings triggered emotions in them akin to childhood memories.

This is what led to the creation of ‘Perspectives’.

Aisling examined the duality of emotive response that society had after being in lockdown for such a long period of time and what it meant to suddenly be able to come and go as you please, to go under and to climb over, to explore the ends of the earth, to run with the wind, and to dance the night away after almost two years of complete isolation.

Aisling recalls early memories of feeling what she saw and trying to reproduce it through textures and colour. Her main senses or perception are visual, haptic (touch) and clairsentient.

Aisling said, “I am perceptive, emotional, engaging, passionate and dedicated to my work. My gut is what drives my creativity.”

The work she creates is to promote wellness for the viewer through communicating the fluency of fractal patterns Aisling sees and feels in nature using textures to stimulate the viewers’ sensory perception.

The enigmatic nature of Aisling’s work and the absence of figurative invites the viewer to enter their own sensory journey and come to their own conclusions.

The Aisling Burke O’Connor exhibition inspiration is derived from Aisling’s love of textures, interlocking shapes, laws of nature, music, harmony, symbolism, and patterns.

Her powerful artworks have a magical way of getting Aisling’s feelings across to the viewer even though no words are said.

The Aisling Burke O Connor exhibition ‘Perspectives’ will run from Saturday, October 22 – Saturday, November 5, 2022.
