Carelon Global Solutions has announced a further 100 jobs at the Irish R&D hub

Carelon Global Solutions in Ireland, a part of Carelon – a US healthcare services company addressing healthcare’s challenges for better outcomes and experience – announced a further 100 jobs at the Irish R&D hub.

The posts will bring total number of Carelon Global Solutions in Ireland associates to 310 by year end, three years following the launch of its IDA supported Innovation Centre at the National Technology Park in Limerick.

Recruitment on this latest round of expansion has already commenced in Q1, with positions available across Product Management, Data Analysis, Data Science, Data Engineering, Dev Ops, Cyber Security, Agile Operations, Quality Engineering, Architecture, Front End and Back End Engineering.

Welcoming the announcement in Limerick, Minister of State at the Department of Enterprise, Trade and Employment Neale Richmond said, “Carelon is further evidence of the rich R&D skills pool available in Ireland. As a government, our focus is very much on creating an environment across Ireland that supports investment and growth and Carelon’s success here is proof of that. We look forward to working closely with Carelon going forward in support of its investment here.”

Chief Operating Officer at Carelon and President at Carelon Global Solutions Rajat Puri said, “We launched in Ireland in late 2021 seeking to tap into the rich R&D ecosystem here to help solve the challenges to achieving full and complete care, and our Irish operations are contributing very positively to this aim. We’ve steadily grown our presence and activities here and today is a statement of our intent to continue to grow our exceptional talent pool in Ireland.”

Carelon Global Solutions Ireland Chief Country Executive John Shaw said, “We’re immensely proud of what we have achieved here. We set out here with an intention to assemble in Ireland a diverse and talented team of health tech innovators to help shape the future of connected healthcare and that’s what our team is doing on a day-to-day basis.  We’ve been guided by our company ‘Think Limitless’ ethos and have built an organization that values its people as they push the limits of what is possible in healthcare technology.”

Mr Shaw said that the company is committed to not alone building a team with cutting edge skills but one that reflects diversity and inclusiveness. To that end, over 60% of the team is ‘new Irish’, drawn from 32 nations, with a 48% to 52% female to male gender split and a target of achieving gender equality by year end.

Mr Shaw added: “We believe diversity is very strongly connected to innovation and it is very heartening for us that we have been able to achieve the mix we have. It sets us up very well for the future.”

Welcoming the news, Chief Executive of Limerick City and County Council, Dr Pat Daly said, “This expansion by Carelon Global Solutions is further evidence that Limerick’s business landscape is flourishing. The announcement builds on a very successful 2023 when almost 3,000 new jobs, and a record €1.3 billion of investments were announced for Limerick. At Limerick City and County Council we remain committed to fostering an environment that makes Limerick an attractive place live, work and visit, where companies and communities can thrive.”
