Focus Ireland Christmas Concert Of Hope 2023 will feature well known and much loved local performers 

Well known and much loved local performers will dance and sing their hearts out

Focus Ireland are delighted to announce that they will hold their annual Focus Ireland Christmas Concert of Hope in Saint Mary’s Cathedral on Monday, December 11 at 7.30pm.

Well known and much loved local performers will dance and sing their hearts out from 7.30pm to approximately 10pm at Saint Mary’s Cathedral, Bridge St., Limerick in aid of Focus Ireland’s homeless services. 

There will be a raffle at the interval with some superb donations from local businesses.  Performing on the night will be Los Paddys, Limericks MIC (Mary Immaculate College) Community Choir, Capriccio String Quartet, Robert Dawson, Scoil Chríost Rí, Ukealadies, Soprano Deborah Bulgarelli, Baritone Lucas Nogueira and Mezzo – Soprano Catherine O’Carroll.

The Focus Ireland Christmas Concert event will be MC’d by well known presenter Katie Sheehan.  Katie Sheehan said, “It’s very sad that there are nearly 4,000 children without a home and that homelessness has continued to rise. To be given an opportunity to raise awareness and much-needed funds so we can challenge this crisis is something that I feel very passionate about. By taking part in the concert, performers and supporters will help Focus Ireland to provide continued support to families at risk of homelessness and help those already directly impacted. Focus Ireland’s Annual Christmas Concert features a wealth of Midwest talent. Please come out and support this worthy cause.”

Speaking ahead of the event,Maura McMahon, Regional Fundraising & Development Officer,  Focus Ireland said:“On a daily basis our frontline staff here in the Midwest are working with people who have become homeless for various reasons.The housing and homeless crisis is impacting many people, with 13,179 people now homeless 3,693 children now homeless across the country and 3,693 of them are children. We in Focus Ireland rely heavily on public support to fund our work and events like this help our frontline services support even more people who are homeless or at risk of losing their home. A total of 89c of every euro received goes to frontline Focus Ireland services. So come along and enjoy a wonderful musical evening with something for everyone’s musical tastes on the night.
