Castle Oliver, Ardpatrick, Co Limerick, is the setting for a magnificent Christmas extravaganza this festive season with proceeds from bookings to benefit ‘The Hope Foundation’.

Having received much International media coverage in 2014 following a visit by arguably the world’s most famous couple of the moment Kim and Kayne West during their short Irish honeymoon, owners Declan and Emma Cormack are now set to welcome their most famous international couple yet. A letter has just arrived from the North Pole booking Mr and Mrs  Santa Claus into  the Castle for the Month of December over the weekends running up to Christmas from Saturday 6th finishing Sunday 21st.

Speaking of her excitement at the launch of the event, where Santa and Mrs Claus popped in to make sure all was in order in advance of the festivities, Emma Cormack said `I am so looking forward to ‘Christmas at the Castle’. This is the first time we have ever hosted anything on this scale and we intend to make it a magical month. We were delighted to partner with The Hope Foundation again following a very successful occasion last  August, we aim to welcome you all to the Castle for what promises to be a wonderful Christmas season and of course to help bring alive the true spirit of Christmas’.

Christmas at the castle will cater for the festive requirements of all ages. For those counting down the days to the arrival of the man in red they will enjoy a visit with Santa Claus. The children will then go on to enjoy heartwarming activities such as decorating of ginger bread men with more surprises while their parents enjoy a glass of mulled wine by the blazing open fires in the grandeur of the castle. Then the elves will take all visitors on a tour of the Castle to include the bedrooms where Santa, Mrs Claus and the elves will sleep during their stay. Santa Claus will be sleeping in the famous half a tone weight replica of a bed owned by the King of Denmark.

For the first time at Castle Oliver there will be a traditional outdoor Christmas market for all ages with wonderful arts, crafts and food stalls for all to enjoy following their visit to the Castle.  A spectacular light show has been planned by sponsors and lighting specialists LED Saver Ltd which is the first of it’s kind in Munster. The Castle and gardens will be lit up with various vibrant changing colours to remind Santa Claus of the northern lights (aurora borealis) at his home in the North Pole. This plan for a breathtaking lighting display draws its inspiration from the renowned Festival of Lights held every November at Mount Steward in Northern Ireland, and from the spectacular lighting of Belfast City Hall last year where LED Saver formed part of a team of light specialists bringing the historical building to life.

Speaking during her second eight week trip this year to Kolkata India to oversee the projects funded by Hope, Maureen Forrest, CEO and Hon. Director of The Hope Foundation, voiced her gratitude to LED Saver ltd and Castle Oliver owners Emma and Declan Cormack for again sharing their stunning private residence for this special time of year and for the street children of Kolkata to be the beneficiaries. “ what a setting for a magnificent Christmas extravaganza this festive season, a wonderful opportunity to spend time during the festive season at such a beautiful venue that we have come to love dearly and I am looking forward to seeing the beautiful castle all lit up when I return to my family at Christmas”.

The event will be running from Saturday 6th, Sunday 7th, Saturday 13th, Sunday 14th, Saturday  20th and Sunday 21st December, for 6 days only and it is advised to book fast to avoid disappointment.
