Charlotte Keane and her daughter Grace from Limerick have set up an impressive GoFundMe campaign, as Grace will donate 18-inches of her hair to the Rapunzel Foundation. While doing so, she is raising money for Milford Hospice. Mum Charlotte will be live streaming Grace’s haircut.

The Rapunzel Foundation is a charitable organisation that helps people who suffer from hair loss, commonly known as Alopecia, by fundraising and collecting hair for wigs. Donors must grow out their hair 14-inches or more.

“The rapunzel foundation assists children going through cancer treatment and other conditions and gives that child back their dignity, ” explains Charlotte.

The mother-and-daughter are fundraising for Milford Hospice, as the centre is very close to their hearts.

Milford Care Centre supplies multiple services to local communities, including a nursing home, hospice home visits and daycare for older people and those with palliative needs.

“They took care of my mother Aileen Kiely in her final days, as well as other family members,” said Charlotte.

“They are a fantastic hospice and really do help the person in their care and show tremendous compassion for the family left behind.”

Milford Hospice operates entirely from donations and non-state funding, so efforts like those of little Grace are crucial in sustaining the provision of this high-quality care.
