Kilmallock store revealed as selling location for Friday’s Daily Million €1 million win

It was a day for celebrations in a Kilmallock store after it was announced that Ryan’s Supervalu on Sarsfield Street sold the top prize-winning ticket in Friday’s 9pm draw

Friday’s €1 million win marked the sixth Daily Million top prize win of 2023 following wins by players in Dublin (2), Tipperary, Donegal and Kildare. 

Store Manager Gareth Davies was delighted to hear that one of his customers had a life-changing start to their weekend, “What a way to spend a Friday night – becoming a millionaire! All of the staff here will be so excited to hear the news as soon as word gets out. We’re a busy shop in town with about 60 of us working here so it’s a great boost for us all. We have lots of regular locals who come into us too so I’m sure they’ll be delighted to hear we sold a winner as it’s positive news for the community.”  

The National Lottery has confirmed that the latest National Lottery millionaire has made contact and arrangements are now being made for them to claim their prize.

Meanwhile, a Tipperary woman visited Lotto HQ this week to collect her cheque of €500,000 after winning the top prize amount in the EuroMillions Plus draw on Friday, June 23. The winner purchased her ticket at Lidl in Thurles. 

The Premier County winner was still in shock while sitting in the Winners Room, “I’ve definitely been in a state of disbelief ever since the win. I checked the ticket the night of the draw and probably didn’t get a lot of sleep afterwards. It really comes to show that dreams actually can come true. This truly will bring a great sense of comfort and relief for the rest of our lives as we were planning and hoping to buy property so this will be a huge help to make that happen, even sooner than expected.” 

Nearly 30 cent in every €1 spent on all National Lottery games goes back to Good Causes in the areas of sport, youth, health, welfare, education, arts, heritage, and the Irish Language. In total, more than €6 Billion has been raised for Good Causes since the National Lottery was established 35 years ago. In 2021 alone, €304 million was raised for local Good Causes in communities across Ireland.
