Limerick man Ted Kirby composes track to support Irish rugby team
Limerick man Ted Kirby’s track and animated video is generating interest from Irish rugby fans around the world
A track composed by proud Munster supporter and Limerick man Ted Kirby with an accompanying animated video is generating interest from Irish rugby fans from around the world as well as former Irish rugby players including Ronan O’Gara.
‘Ireland by the Grace of God ‘ is the first single released by Conscious Kiss Collective created by former rugby player Ted Kirby. The animation that accompanies the track was created with new AI animation tools and has to date over 10,000 engagements on social platforms.
Speaking about the track, Ted said, “The theme connects the Irish mythology of our warrior Celtic folklore to today’s modern gladiators that put on the Irish rugby jersey. I am thrilled that Zombie – from a Limerick band has become part of the fabric of this year’s World Cup but perhaps there is room for another fan anthem?”
It is truly an international track. Ted found an Uilleann piper in Jakarta, Choirs from Indonesia, England and Israel are on the track, a Canadian provided the drums. Teds wife Ciara sings on the track making it also a family affair. Eleven months after first starting the project, on the first day of Ireland’s Rugby World Cup games, the track was ready.
Since the track has been uploaded onto social channels, Ted has been receiving messages online from around the world and is hoping that some of the Irish squad will hear of the track. He knows that a number of the families of those featured in the animation such as Axel Foley’s family are delighted that he is being remembered in such a unique way.
