Limerick Pride 2012

An array of colourful characters marched for the annual Limerick Pride 2012 Parade from City Hall, up O Connell Street and then gathered at The Hunt Museum for a street party hosted by former Alternative Miss Limerick, singer and comedienne Celine. Celine had the crowd in tears of laughter and many well-known community performers took to the stage to show their stuff. Richard Lynch had the honour of being the Grand Marshall for this years festivities and it was a wonderful experience to lead the parade with our newly crowned Mr. & Ms. Gay Limerick 2012 – Colin Carmody & Kate Stewart. Mayor Gerry McLoughlin and TD Jan O Sullivan joined wholeheartedly in the celebrations and were loved by all. To see a video of entitled ‘A Decade of Limerick Pride’ visit now. The video features global drag superstar Rupaul and looks back at the history of Pride in Limerick. Also available on our site are videos of past Pride years 2009, 2010 and 2011. Visit our site this weekend for a video of this year’s parade!
