The QQI Level 4 Retail Skills Course will equip participants with the relevant knowledge, skill and competence to work effectively in Ireland’s vibrant retail sector.

Learners will study a variety of subjects such as customer service, retail sales techniques, computer applications, stock control, and take part in periods of work placement with some of Ireland’s leading employers and organisations.

Learners can also take part in extra-curricular activities that will enhance their social and personal development.

Diarmuid O’Connor, a graduate of the Retail Skills Course spoke highly of the course saying, “I would recommend it to people who are interested in working in the retail industry.”

“The course is also ideal for young people who might be out of education for a while and are looking for a route back into it,” said Diarmuid.

On graduating from the course, learners will have the knowledge, capability and experience to progress to employment in the retail industry and/or further education and training.

The Retails Skills Course is open to young people (16-19 years) with participants entitled to a training allowance.

The Retail Skills Course is part of the further education and training curriculum delivered at LYS’ Community Training Centre, Lr. Glentworth St, Limerick.

Established in 1983, the LYS’ Community Training Centre is supported by the Limerick & Clare Education & Training Board and the European Social Fund.
