The King John’s Castle gig was announced following the demand for the singer’s “Live at the Big Top” show which sold out within hours of going on sale.

Speaking at announcement Mick Dolan said, “We are delighted to announce that Moncrieff will be back in Limerick after his sell out show at Live at the Big Top this December. His December show sold out in a few hours so early booking is advised”.

The announcement comes as Moncrieff is currently on a soldout European headline winter tour. The winner of this year’s RTÉ Choice Music “Irish Song of the Year” Award, Irish singer/songwriter Moncrieff is set to play headline shows in Limerick (King John’s Castle Sunday 5th May), Dublin (3Olympia Tuesday May 7th) and London (Lafayette Friday May 10th) 2024.

Having just won the RTÉ Choice Music Prize for “Irish Song of the Year” 2022 for their smash single, “Warm” the Waterford County native has obviously been busy in the studio, finishing off new EP “selfcare,” a collection of nine new songs.

Moncrieff also announced his debut album is ready having recently been recorded between Grouse Lodge in Westmeath, and London.

A couple of EPs into his career, Moncrieff knows how to build soaring hooks, how to juxtapose calm verses and hugely explosive choruses as was evident in his 2023 hit.

In love with classic Soul and R&B listening to artists such as Otis Redding, Etta James, and Ray Charles as a teenager, music became increasingly important as an outlet for Moncrieff when suddenly his sister and, only two years later, his older brother passed away.

After his debut single was played by Sir Elton John in his radio show, he kickstarted the latest chapter in 2022 when his single “Warm” from the eponymous EP, released last September went top 10 in Irish Radio and saw him perform on Germany’s ARD Network clocking millions of streams/views along the way.

Following the release of his most recent “Highways & Hurricanes” EP, he is currently on his “biggest ever tour around Europe and the UK,” including headline shows in Poland, Holland, Czech Republic, Austria, Switzerland, Germany the UK and Ireland – as well as a sold out headline show at The Milk Market, Limerick.

Tickets are on sale this Thursday, December 7 at 10am from dolans.ie
