Sarah is a 28-year-old singer/songwriter from Scarriff, County Clare. She is an only child and has a beautiful daughter Mia who also loves to sing. After graduating from secondary school in 2011, Sarah took a pre-nursing course in Ennis, County Clare but went on to study at the Music Technology at Limerick Institute of Technology and has had close ties to Limerick since then. Sarah is influenced hugely by her daughter, Becky Hill and Ava Max.

Sarah began her original music journey in 2021, where she accumulated two NO1’s on the iTunes charts and landed on NO5 in the Irish Homegrown Charts with her last single ‘Heavy On My Heart’.

The Sarah McTernan single ‘Gotta Get Out’ describes the internal, hidden struggles of anxiety and being trapped inside your own thoughts. The song addresses the power that anxiety holds over you, until you release the fear and embrace your inner strength. The track was co-written with Darren Martyn, recorded in ‘DM Unsigned’ Recording Studios London and mixed and produced by Darren Martyn.

Sarah’s career started out with an audition for The Voice of Ireland in 2015 with judges: Bressie, Una Healy, Kian Egan and Rachel Stevens, with an exceptional audition of ‘Who you are’ by Jessie J, all four judges turned their chairs and fought it out to be picked as Sarah’s mentor. After an indecisive wait, it was Rachel Stevens who would lead Sarah to the final and finish in third place of the competition.

With success and recognition from The Voice, Sarah went on to perform in venues all over Europe and Represented Ireland in Eurovision, before returning to Ireland where she has been writing and recording new material.

Sarah’s talent returns and outshines in her upcoming single ‘Gotta Get Out’ which describes the internal, hidden struggles of anxiety and becoming trapped inside of your thoughts. ‘Gotta Get Out’ addresses the power that anxiety holds over you until you can release the fear and embrace your inner strength.
