The Savoy Collection Limerick honoured its more than 200 members of staff described as “great ambassadors for Limerick” with annual awards and appreciation event
The Savoy Collection Limerick held its annual awards ceremony and staff event at House Limerick to celebrate the more than 200 members of the Savoy team.
The event is the hotel group’s chance to show appreciation for its staff who “work very hard behind the scenes” including the kitchen staff, cleaners, and porters who may not be seen but play a vital role, Director of Operations, Altaf Khan, described the awards as “a way for us to show we appreciate the work they do”.
The awards ceremony saw some comedic awards which touched on the company’s tight-knit staff and also awards which recognised some individual achievements for staff that go above and beyond in their positions.
With more than 60 awards on the night, staff received certificates of appreciation with gifts showing appreciation including nights away and flights.
Following a very busy Christmas period, the company regularly holds their staff night in January while looking to the year ahead.
While giving thanks to the host venue, organisers and media on the night, The Savoy Collection Limerick Owner, Ronan Brannigan said the true stars of the evening were the dedicated individuals comprising the Savoy Collection team.
Mr Brannigan said, “Thank you. 2023 was another amazingly successful year for the Savoy Collection. We’re a small little hospitality group operating in a wonderful city in the West of Ireland, and for me, I wouldn’t be anywhere else. It’s a great honour to work with each and every one of you.”
From frontline staff to management, each member was lauded for their contribution to the group’s ongoing success with Ronan’s words of encouragement and praise felt with a genuine gratitude of the group’s accomplishments.
He said, “It’s a great honour to meet you guys on a daily basis and to see you progressing. To the guys who are seen and unseen, you’re all as important as each other.”
Speaking about the team across the hotel group, Mr Brannigan said, “You’re great ambassadors for Limerick and for the Savoy group. It’s, wonderful to see you all progressing and moving through your careers and a wonderful honour to work with you guys.”
Both Mr Brannigan and Mr Khan extended their gratitude to the staff who couldn’t make the awards ceremony, including those who had to work at the Savoy Collection’s George Hotel, Savoy Hotel, and Hampton’s on the night of the awards.
“I just want to finally thank the guys who can’t be here, who are keeping our outlets open this evening, because we do open 24/7. To the guys who are back at work, hopefully, they’ll join us later, but they’re keeping the wheels turning.
“And the people who couldn’t be with us tonight for various reasons, we thank them for all that they have given us throughout the year,” said Mr Brannigan.
