Revival Press and Limerick Writers’ Centre present an exclusive Poetry Workshop led by acclaimed poet Sheila Fitzpatrick O’Donnell this September 9
The Poetry workshop, centered around poet Sheila Fitzpatrick O’Donnell’s celebrated poetry collection “Where I’m From,” offers a unique opportunity to delve into the art of poetic expression and craft on Saturday, September 9 at The People’s Museum of Limerick, 2 Pery Square.
Workshop participants will embark on a journey through their past and present; harness the power of life’s nuances to fuel creativity; cultivate self-care and compassion through the creative process; and cultivate a sense of accomplishment and confidence in their poetic voice.
Drawing inspiration from the rich tapestry of personal experiences and childhood memories, Sheila Fitzpatrick O’Donnell will help participants to harness these elements as a foundation for their own poetic endeavours.
Those in attendance are invited to uncover the art of poetic expression as Sheila delves into the creative process behind her bestselling book, this nurturing and empathetic environment will empower participants to craft their own poetic pieces.
Sheila Fitzpatrick O’Donnell is a native of Limerick City, now living in Shanagolden, Co. Limerick. She comes from a long line of poets/storytellers; her mother, known as Polly the Poet, encouraged her to pick up the pen.
Her works have been published in many anthologies in Ireland and abroad. Sheila won the All Ireland Limericks Competition in 2009 and 2011 and the Cuisle Competition in 2013. She was shortlisted for the Desmond O’Grady Poetry Competition in 2013. Her first collection, A Bouquet of Trilogies, was published in 2010.
In 2014 Bridget Wallace and Sheila took their Poetry Chair project to the streets for Limerick City of Culture. Sheila is currently travelling Ireland with her ‘Reading At Random’ project and hosts a rambling house in her cottage in Shanagolden and has also a member of the Moyross Drama group.
