Sionna Festival returns to King John’s Castle on the 22nd of September for an evening celebrating Ireland’s culture and love for local and national electronic arts.

In collaboration with Culture Night, Limerick City Council & Limerick Arts Office; Sionna Festival is delighted to be back representing local and national electronic arts.

Sionna aims to bring life and culture back to the city of Limerick and Ireland by working together to establish a platform for local and national artists to express themselves once again, as well as bring some entertainment and excitement back to Limerick City.

This year’s lineup consists of Sligo-born Producer Spray playing a b2b performance with Armagh native Holly Lester to bring sounds of wigged-out prog, breaks and left field Trance.

Local artists Brawni & Chaz Moloney are developing a special Live modular live set that will combine the artists’ styles; Brawni’s transcendental melodies and pads combined with Chaz’ powerful grooves & Jackin basslines will be the perfect match to dance day into night at King John’s castle.

Both Limerick artists are well-known in the electronic music sphere, Brawni having seen his track, Symbol, featured on BBC Radio 1 Dance earlier this year and made a name for himself making regular appearances in some of Limerick’s hot spots as well as club nights such as Cabal.

Chaz Moloney being a long-standing name in the techno scene, released his latest four-track EP ‘Detuned Thoughts for Expansion’ in recent months, with some Limerick audiences being treated to the tunes at gigs in Dolan’s Warehouse and Pharmacia.

Taking to Instagram with the announcement, Brawni said, “We’ve combined our hardware and have been cooking this show for the last while. Absolutely buzzed to play this show live for the first time at King Johns Castle! Up Limerick City. Up Culture Night.”

Furthermore, Bon Voyage will bring their unique Hip House/ Acid House sound produced by Arveene accompanied by Live MC Shamonn Cassette. Finally, Hi Vista will open at night. Local Limerick artists who have been working hard on their indie house sound, will be the perfect act to open up the night, Expect Le Boom Electro pop vibes & summer Yearning!

The lineup will see Spray B2B Holly Lester, Chaz Moloney B2b Brawni(Live Set), Bon Voyage, and Hi Vista.

The Commercial Limerick will be doing the bar and also food will be available with EL Fuego Mexican Food Truck available on the evening.
