The final jobs fair specifically tailored to local people in regeneration areas of Limerick is due to take place this Thursday, September 22 in Southill Hub from 6-8pm.

This is the fourth of the jobs fairs, which aim to bring employers into the communities and provide attendees with direct contact to the opportunities available within their company.

Previous fairs have taken place in Moyross, St Mary’s Park and Our Lady of Lourdes.

The Southill jobs fair will also enable attendees to access information in relation to the supports available to engage in further education, training and employment.

TheSouthill jobs fair coincides with the release of a new video, which tells the story of one man who used the Outreach to Employment Initiative operated under the Regeneration programme to secure a job that he loves.

Among the companies who will have stands in Southill are:

·        Virgin Media Ireland

·        Maldron Hotel

·        VPK Limerick

·        Defence Forces

·        EI Electronics

·        Johnson & Johnson

·        Care Bright

·        Bike Engineering Academy

·        Tusla

·        PAUL Partnership

·        Southill Hub

·        Southill Family Resource Centre

·        Tait House

·        Department of Social Protection

Mayor of the City and County of Limerick Cllr Francis Foley said: “The format of these jobs fairs has been hugely successful in bringing employers right into the heart of these regeneration communities, to show what jobs are out there and are available to local people. I would encourage all those interested in getting on the career path, either with their first job or moving up in their careers to come along and see what is out there.”

“So many companies are hiring staff that now is definitely a good time to be looking for a job. The uniqueness of this jobs fair has proved successful in Moyross, St Mary’s Park and Ballinacurra Weston and I’ve no doubt interest will be just as high in Southill.”

“So whether it’s a job you are looking for or if further education and training is a preferred route people would like to pursue then this is the place to be.”
