Brenda Wall, a mother deeply moved by the ongoing conflict in Palestine and Gaza, has helped organise the fundraising night to make a difference.

Disturbed by the imagery of what is happening to the Palestinian people, she decided to channel her concern into action, rallying support from the fashion, music and beauty industries across the city and county.

“I got sick and tired of feeling useless and just posting videos the whole time,” Brenda told I Love Limerick, “I know it definitely does something but it’s really not helping them in any way and I said Feck it.”

The event which will see all proceeds on the evening go to the children of Gaza through UNICEF, Myles Breen will act as MC for the evening and will introduce a fashion show featuring Marion Murphy Cooney, Orlaith Carroll of The Attic Bridal, and Clara Silks.

Later in the evening music from The Shannon Gospel Choir, 16 Tons of Jive, Sticky Fingers, and The Blues Train, as well as Tony Roche on percussion with DJ Ross Purcell, will “show the solidarity between the Palestinian music throughout the fashion show and the Irish music”.

Focusing on the humanitarian aspect of the evening, Brenda stressed,  “We’re going through UNICEF, all the money goes to the children of Gaza via UNICEF,” adding, “Nobody involved in this is getting a penny for any of the work and time they’re putting into this.”

Brenda spoke about the incredible support received in organising the event from all of the acts and paid special tribute to Dolans and Clara Silks.

She said, “Dolans have just been amazing, and Clara Silks, she’s one of the designers, I went to her first with my idea and she has been a massive part of helping me along with this.”

As the group prepares for what will be an incredible evening of support and solidarity, tickets are available through Dolans website and people interested are encouraged to book their tickets early.

Tickets for the event are €25 with many businesses donating spot prizes for a raffle to be held on the night. Doors open at 5.30pm.
