FOCUS ON CLASSICS FOR THIRD ‘ROYAL PICTURE SHOW’ MINI FILM FESTIVAL
The Royal on Monday 1st September launched another exciting programme at the Clarion Hotel for its forthcoming third installment of The Royal Picture Show. The Picture Show will comprise of several musicals, tributes to Madeleine Carroll and Robin Williams, an Irish language programme for schools and free events for Culture Night (September 19th) until 11pm.
Running over four days from Thursday 18th to Sunday 21st September 2014 at 69 O’Connell Street (formerly The Belltable), the mini film festival promises to offer something for all the family across the weekend along with a number of free events for Culture Night on Friday, September 19th .
The Royal is presenting four mini film festivals during Limerick City of Culture 2014 in February, May, September and November. So far, the programme has fulfilled its promise to satisfy the most demanding cinema-goer with a variety of films (many shown in Limerick for the first time), including new works from local & national filmmakers and the very best of international cinema.
This third weekend, the focus will be on classics – several musicals, tributes to Madeleine Carroll and Robin Williams, a charity screening night of The Rocky Horror Picture Show in association with Unity Gospel Choir Limerick, an Irish language programme for schools and free events for Culture Night until 11pm.
