The Limerick Garda Division hosts a Three Bridges fundraising Walk on September 30 in aid of the Little Blue Heroes

The Limerick Garda Division is hosting a Three Bridges fundraising Walk on Saturday,  September 30, 2023, from 12 pm to 4 pm.

The event is in aid of the Little Blue Heroes Foundation which supports seriously ill children and will include a special sensory-friendly session from 12 pm to 12:30 pm.

Participants will embark on the walk with an aim of collectively covering an incredible 5,000 kilometres along the iconic Three Bridges Walk in Limerick City.

The walk which is made up of a 3.6 kilometre loop, will kick off and conclude at the rear gates of the Henry Street Garda Station.

A collective total of 1,387 loops of the walk will need to be completed to achieve the goal and participants are invited to walk, run, or cycle to contribute to this collective effort.

The event will run alongside a family fun day which will take place at the rear of Henry Street Garda Station where a number of local and national Garda units will be on display, along with some children’s entertainment.

A number of local musicians will also be there to provide some live entertainment.

The Little Blue Heroes initiative aims to identify, communicate and financially assist families of children who have serious illnesses in Ireland. Provide practical support and enhance community links to families of children who have serious illnesses in Ireland.

The initiative also aims to empower the children and create memories for families we support by fostering positive community engagement with An Garda Síochána.
