Limerick Santa Cycle 2022 takes place December 4 in aid of Milford Care Centre

The Limerick Santa Cycle is back for 2023, set up in memory of the group’s dear friend, Alan Kavanagh who sadly passed away in 2020, the event has raised more than €18,000 for Milford Care Centre.

Kicking off at The Hurlers on the Dublin Road, making its way through Limerick City and back, passing the main gates of Milford Care Hospice before finishing at The Hurlers, the event will cater to cyclists of all levels and can be taken at a leisurely pace.

The organisers said on the Eventbrite page, “Thank you for your very generous support in 2022. We raised just over €18,000 in total and had over 150 cyclists take part. We want 2023 to be bigger and better so come and join the fun and festivities!

We are delighted that the Limerick Santa Cycle is back for 2023, so why not come and join in the festive fun while helping a local charity which is very close to all our hearts in the Monaleen-Milford areas – Milford Hospice Care Centre.”

The event organisers said, “This is such a great cause and we want to get as many people involved as we can,” calling on people to share their Instagram page. They also asked of people to “possibly give a call out to the event, we raised €18,000 last year and would like it to be bigger and better this year.”

Santa suits and festive bike lights will be provided on the night and participants can enjoy finger food and refreshments at The Hurlers bar after the event.

Prizes will be awarded for early registrants, the best Santa costumes, and the most festively lit-up bike, with a raffle full of incredible prizes being held on the night too, attendance on the evening is limited to those over 16.
