Limerick City and County Council has come on board to support local craft-makers from the ‘Made in Limerick’ collective who will display a range of handmade goods, fine art, design, ceramics, textiles, glass, jewelry, natural skincare, wood, painting and much more at the event.

Speaking at the launch, Siobhan Kennedy, Ahane National School Principal said, “There’s a great buzz of excitement in the school for the upcoming fashion show at the Castletroy Park Hotel and we are delighted to have a team of dedicated and hardworking parents who have organised what promises to be a fantastic night on Thursday, October 13.

“We were successful in our funding application to the Department of Education and Skills earlier this year to upgrade our backyard in the school and now we’re looking forward to enhancing this space with some new playground facilities for sports and yard games. We have exciting plans for the further development of our school grounds, and we know this fundraising will go a long way to helping us achieve that goal.”

Some parents, staff, and pupils of Ahane National School will also hit the catwalk alongside the professionals from the Holman Lee Agency at the Fashion Show and tickets are selling fast.

“We are very conscious of the cost of living at the moment, but we know we’ve put together a great value evening and a superb night’s entertainment so ensure you get your tickets before they sell out!” said Laura Ryan, Ahane NS Fashion Show Committee.

“We know that every cent raised will be put towards developing the school grounds for our children and for generations to come. We’d like to thank the Holman Lee Agency, Castletroy Park Hotel, the Council, and all the local stores and stall owners who are taking part and particularly those businesses in our local communities of Ahane, Castleconnell, Castletroy, Annacotty, Murroe, and Newport who have been so generous with raffle prizes and sponsorship. We know it will be a super night that is open to all to attend and we’re very excited about it.”

A prosecco reception will also take place prior to the show at 7pm with the fashion spectacle starting at 8pm. Up to 300 are expected to attend.

Tickets to the fashion show cost €20.

Ahane National School is located at Laught, Lisnagry, Co Limerick, and is open for enrolment for September 2023.
