A fundraiser in honour of Judy Fitzgerald organised by her family will continue her legacy and advocacy by supporting Cycle Against Suicide
In a tribute to Judy Fitzgerald who sadly passed away just four months ago, her sister Lucy has organised a fundraiser in aid of Cycle Against Suicide, who the late Miss Bikini Ireland champion, frontline nurse and midwife was an ambassador.
The event will commemorate Judy’s memory and continue her legacy as an advocate for many, and is set to raise vital funds for Cycle Against Suicide’s life-saving initiatives. The family hopes their efforts in helping an initiative such as Cycle Against Suicide will help prevent other families from experiencing such heartbreak and pain.
With donations open until March 31, 2024, the iDonate page has already surpassed its primary target of €500, raising more than €2,500 in its first week since being created.
Posting to Judy’s Instagram page, Lucy has called on her supporters to “Please give what you can to support their lifesaving work”.
She said, “Hi everyone, it has been four months since we lost my sister Judy in such tragic circumstances. I wanted to do something nice in her memory so I have organised a fundraiser for Cycle Against Suicide. Judy was their brand ambassador and completed the cycles in 2014 and 2015. We don’t want another family to suffer the way we’re suffering Please give what you can to support their lifesaving work.”
Judy Fitzgerald was crowned Miss Bikini Ireland 2014 and went on to represent Ireland on some of the biggest stages around the world in fitness and beauty pageants. A University College Cork (UCC) graduate, Judy displayed her care and compassion as a midwife and working as a frontline nurse while balancing her modelling career.
She left behind a legacy of hard work, care, and pride in representing Ireland and the goals she has achieved which could be seen from the tributes paid on her social media.
