Limerick City and County Council are pleased to announce the commencement of construction of ten Kilfinanehousing units in Radharc Cillín. The development comprises 3 four-bed houses; 3 three-bed houses; 2 two-bed houses ; and 2 one-bed duplex units. Contracts have been signed with KDC Building & Civil Engineering Ltd from Kilworth, Cork who won the competitive tender process. The overall contract is worth in the region of €3 million.

The proposed Kilfinane housingdevelopment will have its own distinctive built form and design and will seek to integrate into its existing surroundings and the existing residential development of Radharc Cillín. 

Careful consideration has been given to the layout of the housing proposal, which has been particularly cognisant of the existing public open space and extensive views to the North. The development will be accessed via the existing road serving Radharc Cillín. The construction phase is expected to take 16 months to complete.

Speaking about the development, Mayor of the City and County of Limerick, Cllr Gerald Mitchelsaid: “As Mayor of the City and County of Limerick and as a member of the Cappamore Kilmallock District I am delighted to announce the signing of the contract for Radharc Cillín.

“This builds on recent additions to our housing stock such as new houses in Kilmallock, Knocklong and Hospital. This development is one of a series of Part 8 housing applications, which were granted by Limerick City and County Council and has now been approved for funding by the central government. The development is part of the Council’s plans for new homes in Limerick as part of its commitment to the government’s Housing for All programme.”

Welcoming the contract signing Chief Executive of Limerick City and County Council, Dr. Pat Dalycommented; “Radharc Cillín represents more than just another housing project for Limerick City and County Council. It’s a testament to community integration and thoughtful design. Our partnership with KDC Building & Civil Engineering Ltd marks a milestone towards fulfilling the promise of accessible, quality housing for all. Radharc Cillín is a symbol of our commitment to nurturing vibrant communities.”
