Limerick Chamber calls for businesses to enter prestigious awards

Limerick Chamber has launched the 2013 Limerick Chamber Regional Business Awards, in association with award sponsors LIT and launch sponsors Lyons of Limerick, to honour excellence and innovation in business.

 

The Limerick Chamber Regional Business Awards aim to celebrate the achievements of companies in the region and to recognise their vital contribution to the economy.

 

Maria Kelly, Limerick Chamber CEO, said: “Businesses are looking for innovative and cost effective ways to promote their business and the Limerick Chamber Regional Business Awards are one such opportunity.  Companies that are interested in progressing their business, telling their story to a wider audience and recognising the achievements of their team, are encouraged to apply for the 2013 Awards.”

Media sponsors Limerick Leader and Limerick’s Live 95FM will profile each of the companies shortlisted for the awards.

Dr Maria Hinfelaar, President, LIT, overall sponsors of the Awards, said: “LIT is delighted to partner with Limerick Chamber in recognising the success and achievements of businesses in our region.  As sponsors of these awards for the xxx year running, we honour companies who are thriving and succeeding in a difficult economic climate.”

In total there are seven categories in the 2013 Awards;

  • Best Start-up / Emerging Business Award
  • Best SME Business Award
  • Best Large Indigenous Business Award
  • Best FDI Business Award
  • Best Exporter Award
  • Best Retail & Hospitality Business Award
  • Best Sport, Art & Culture Award

The closing date for entries is 4 October 2013.  Companies interested in entering the awards should visit www.limerickchamber.ie.  Finalists for each award category will be announced at the Limerick Chamber President’s Dinner on 15th November 2013.

The judging panel is drawn from the senior management teams of our sponsors along with consultants from The Discovery Partnership.

The awards are open to businesses in Limerick, Clare, Tipperary, North Cork and North Kerry – both members and non-members of Limerick Chamber can enter.

About the Awards:

Now in its third year, the annual Limerick Chamber Midwest Business Awards, celebrate excellence in business across 7 categories.  Last year Northern Trust won the Overall Business of the Year Award.

The Limerick Chamber President’s dinner will be held in the Strand Hotel on the evening of Friday 15 November.  The event is the most prestigious business event in the region. Over 400 guests will attend the black tie gala event this year.

Richard is a presenter, producer, songwriter and actor. He was named the Limerick Person of the Year (2011) and won an online award at the Metro Éireann Media and Multicultural Awards (2011) for promoting multi-culturalism online. Richard says that the ilovelimerick.com concept is very much a community driven project that aims to document life in Limerick. So, that in 20 years time people can look back and remember the events that were making the headlines.
