The hugely successful Jobs Fairs in Limerick’s four regeneration areas are making a welcome return for 2024.

The first event in Moyross, this Thursday, March 21 will feature over 25 employers, educational bodies and other agencies covering a wide field of opportunities in the Midwest region.

Introduced in 2022, the Jobs Fairs are an initiative of the Outreach to Employment Programme. The events put residents in direct contact with companies and provide information on further education and training opportunities. Attendees can also find out about supports available to them.

The Mayor of the City and County of Limerick, Cllr Gerald Mitchell is delighted to see the Jobs Fairs grow in popularity each year saying, “The Jobs Fairs proved very popular and successful in recent years creating a demand for these events to continue in 2024. There is a clear benefit to providing the opportunity for residents to engage directly with employers and educational institutes as they consider their career path. I’m delighted to learn that many individuals gained employment as a direct result of this Outreach to Employment Programme, and that many others engaged with training to further grow their careers. We look forward to bringing this event to other areas later this year.”

Director of Regeneration, Sports and Recreation at Limerick City and County Council, Joe Delaney said:  “Once again, there will be a wide range of employers returning to this event in Moyross, on Thursday 21st March. It is a great opportunity for them to meet with the local community and explore a wide range of both employment and training options. The last two years have seen many individuals proceed to employment and others engage in training as a direct result of this event.”

Jobs Fairs in Ballinacurra Weston, St Mary’s Park and Southill will take place on later dates.
