“Sunday, March 13th is going to be a memorable day.  It will be a 10km that we can enjoy safely, and we look forward to welcoming you to the Start Line or Virtually as we run/walk together again,” the Centre said.

Those already registered will be deferred to the new date.

The 10k is open to runners and walkers of all levels and abilities, and a cash prize is available to win for 1st, 2nd and 3rd places in both male and female categories.

Early bird registration for the event is open until Saturday, February 26 at a cost of €20, with registration after this date being €25.

The entry fee includes a custom running top which is kindly sponsored by Dell Technologies.

While the event was held virtually last year, it is taking place in a hybrid form this year, and participants can choose to take part either virtually or in person.

All funds from the event will go towards Milford Care Centre.

Milford Care Centre is a voluntary, non-profit organisation and registered charity. They aim to provide the highest quality of care to patients or residents, family, and friends, both in the areas of palliative care and services to the older person.

Milford Hospice is person-centred and aims to provide comfort, autonomy, and rehabilitation. They affirm life while integrating the physical, psychological and spiritual aspects of care particular to individual needs. They encourage advanced planning rather than crisis intervention.

Many families in Limerick have had some connection with Milford Hospice, be it directly or indirectly. They are a massive support to the community of Limerick, and funds raised from the event will be put into the much-needed services they provide.

For more about the event, you can contact the fundraising team on the Milford Care Centre website HERE or call 061 485 860.
