Network Limerick Businesswomen of the Year Winners Celebrate at Specsavers Limerick Fashion Show at Cornstore Limerick
Network Limerick announced the winners of their annual “Women in Business Awards” at an event on Tuesday evening at the Cornstore Restaurant Limerick. This year’s business awards were sponsored by the Limerick City Enterprise Board and Specsavers Limerick. Patricia Irwin, Owner at Ring O’Roses Florist, received the award for Network Limerick’s self-employed businesswoman of the year, Antoinette O’Connell, Hat Designer and Stylist, received the new business of the year award and Melissa Robert, Elizabeth Arden Counter Manager at Brown Thomas, was named employee of the year. All three businesswomen will be representing the organisation at the Network Ireland National Awards, which will be held in October at Fota Island Resort in Cork. The awards presentation was followed by a Specsavers Limerick fashion show to launch their new range of John Rocha eyewear. The event was in association with the Cornstore Restaurant and Love Gourmet Week, which is taking place in Limerick from 1st-9th June. Three well-known and successful Limerick businesswomen judged this year’s Network Limerick awards. Linda Stevens, Executive Director at Plassey Campus Centre, University of Limerick presented the award to Patricia Irwin, Network Limerick’s 2013 Self-Employed Businesswoman Winner. Irene Hamilton, Regional Managing Director at Johnston Press presented the award to Melissa Roberts, Network Limerick’s 2013 Employee of the Year Winner. Bernie Moloney, Assistant CEO at Limerick City Enterprise Board presented the award to Antoinette O’Connell, Network Limerick’s 2013 New Business woman Winner.
Following Network Limerick’s awards presentations on Tuesday evening, the businesswomen of the year celebrated at Specsavers Limerick’s fashion show to launch their new range of John Rocha eyewear. Richard Lynch, I Love Limerick, was compere for the evening and models wearing dresses provided by Will O’Brien, Be Fabulous Limerick, showcased the new eyewear. Speaking at the event, Sinead Clohessy, Retail Director at Specsavers Limerick and Network Limerick member, said; “We at Specsavers were thrilled to sponsor this year’s Women in Business Awards. Network Limerick is the Organisation for Women in Business, the Professions and the Arts in Limerick and Clare. It provides a forum for Women in Business to network, exchange ideas and increase their business contacts at monthly networking events.
