Limerick City and County Council in partnership with DC Manor Ltd. has launched Phase 1 of an affordable home purchase scheme for private buyers at Woodfield Manor, Newcastle West, Co. Limerick.

Phase 1 of the Woodfield Manor affordable housing scheme is a new development of 21 houses.

Prices start from €250,000 for a three-bedroom mid-terrace house and from €255,000 for a three-bedroom end-terrace house.

The affordable home purchase scheme is generally aimed at first-time buyers and fresh start applicants and helps people on moderate incomes to buy new homes at reduced prices. Through this scheme, Limerick City and County Council will take a percentage equity share (share of the ownership) in the home.

Potential applicants looking to buy a home in Woodfield Manor are encouraged to familiarise themselves with the eligibility criteria and the application process.

Mayor of the City and County of Limerick, Cllr Gerald Mitchell welcomed the launch of the affordable housing scheme at Woodfield Manor, saying, “This is the second affordable home purchase scheme for Limerick under Housing for All and it will provide much-needed affordable homes in Newcastle West for first-time buyers and fresh start applicants”.

Caroline Curley, Director of Housing with Limerick City and County Council said, “This scheme is one of a number of affordable home purchase schemes in the pipeline for delivery by the Council and offers eligible purchasers an opportunity to secure their own home at an affordable price.”

DC Manor Ltd. owner, Denis Corbett, commented, “As a local firm based in Newcastle West, we recognise and see first-hand the need for homes in the area and we are committed to both the delivery of homes and investment in our local economy. We are delighted to be providing affordable homes for families who need them.”

The online application portal for those interested in purchasing one of the affordable homes at Woodfield Manor will open for applications on Wednesday, October 18, 2023, at 12pm.

The original closing date for applications was November 10, 2023 but this has now been extended to Friday, December 15, 2023.

In conjunction with the extended deadline to apply for the scheme, both Limerick City and County Council and DC Manor (developers of the Woodfield Manor estate) will hold an information evening for members of the public who may be interested in applying for the scheme.

This will take place on November 23rd in the Resident’s Lounge of the Longcourt House Hotel from 4-8pm.
