Limerick Chamber announces Noel Gavin as President of Limerick Chamber taking over from outgoing president, Miriam O’Connor

This transition marks a significant milestone in the Chamber’s leadership, following a tenure filled with notable achievements under the guidance of outgoing President, Miriam O’Connor Head of Legal Atlantic Projects.

Noel, who has served the Chamber with dedication and insight during his term as Board of Director and VP, brings to the presidency a wealth of experience and a deep commitment to the business community of Limerick. His enthusiasm for the role is evident. “I am truly honoured to step into the role of President with Limerick Chamber. This opportunity to lead and work closely with the talented team at the Chamber is one I embrace wholeheartedly,” said Noel. “We have some key projects in the pipeline that are very close to my heart. These initiatives will not only benefit our members but also the wider business community. I firmly believe in the Chamber’s purpose and the impactful role we play in the region’s economic and social development.”

During her presidency, Miriam O’Connor achieved substantial progress across a variety of initiatives, including the follow-up event to the Energy on the Estuary Series, which was hosted in Foynes last year, the release of the city centre report, and the successful launch of the inaugural Limerick Chamber Golf Classic, among others.

The Chamber extends its deepest gratitude to Miriam for her leadership and contributions, which have significantly impacted the Chamber and the business community of the Mid-West region.

Speaking on her time as President Miriam said “As I pass the presidential chains to Noel Gavin, I reflect on a tenure filled with growth, challenge, and immense reward. Leading Limerick Chamber has been an extraordinary journey, one that allowed me to contribute to initiatives that have shaped our business landscape. From the pivotal Energy on the Estuary follow-up in Foynes, to the insightful city centre report and the successful inauguration of the Limerick Chamber Golf Classic, we have embarked on endeavours that not only celebrated our collective spirit but also propelled us towards a future of innovation and resilience.

“Our efforts to advocate for the Mid-West region, underscored by meaningful engagements with key ministers, TD’s, and the presence of the Tánaiste and Taoiseach at our events, have fortified our position in national discourse. Moreover, recognizing the remarkable John Kiely with the Limerick Chamber Presidents Award epitomizes the synergy between our community’s sporting excellence and business acumen.

“I am profoundly grateful for the opportunity to serve, the accomplishments we have achieved, and the indelible support from our members and the broader community. As Noel steps into this role, I am confident in the Chamber’s continued prosperity and impact under his guidance.”

Looking forward, Noel is committed to building on these successes and spearheading new projects that align with the Chamber’s mission to support and promote business growth in Limerick.

“Our focus remains on delivering value to our members, advocating for the business community’s needs, and contributing to the prosperity of our region. I am excited for what the future holds and am committed to working collaboratively towards our shared goals,” added Noel.

Limerick Chamber is confident that under Noel’s leadership, the Chamber will continue to thrive and achieve greater heights. The Chamber encourages all members and the business community to welcome Noel in his new role and to support him and the Chamber team in their mission to enhance the business landscape of Limerick.
