Novas Annual SleepOut 2019 to take place on Friday, December 20
For the fourth consecutive year, Novas is holding a Christmas Sleep-out in Limerick. The Novas Annual SleepOut 2019 is taking place on Friday, December 20 from 7 pm to 7 am. For the first time ever there will be three sleep out’s running concurrently throughout the Mid-West – in Limerick City, Ennis Co Clare and Thurles Co. Tipperary.
The Sleep-Out is Novas’ largest fundraising event of the year and monies raised go directly to frontline services in the region. For the third year in a row, the Novas Annual SleepOut 2019 is being supported by Limerick hurler Will O’ Donoghue, who will be sleeping out on the night and is raising vital funds in advance of the event.
There will be music, food and plenty of hot drinks throughout the night. Una Burns, Head of Policy and Communications with Novas is urging people to get involved and help them alleviate homelessness in Limerick.
‘It is always a fun and festive night, while also a very important event that shines a light on the homeless issue in Limerick and raises vital funds for our services here. If you, your friends, family or work colleagues would like to do something before Christmas, this might be the event for you. We are asking people to raise as much money as possible in advance through sponsorship cards or through online fundraising.’
Novas is a voluntary organisation that works with some of Ireland’s most socially excluded: those that are homeless or at risk of becoming homeless. The organisation has been offering client-centred services through services and accommodation for the homeless since 2002. They are always searching for new ways to prevent and aid long term homelessness.
