NOVAS, Regeneron and Pocket Forests recently partnered to create a beautiful healing space at NOVAS Respite House for people whose loved ones are in addiction. The collaboration supports the creation of a therapeutic space, as well as enhancing biodiversity.

NOVAS Respite House cares for the families and loved ones of people experiencing addiction. Living with someone in addiction can be challenging, the Respite House provides families with time and space for themselves as well as enhacing coping skills. It’s a very special project and a service that NOVAS is very proud to offer.

As part of Regeneron’s Days for Doing Good Initiative, Regeneron’s dedicated employees carefully prepared the soil in November and planted an impressive pocket forest just in time for spring. The Regeneron Pocket Forest encapsulates indigenous trees and shrubs that will boost local biodiversity for years to come.

Nuala Carey, Associate Director Corporate Communications and Affairs Regeneron said, “This Regeneron Pocket Forest project is about more than just planting trees; we’re cultivating a sustainable future and helping the community. As the trees start to thrive in this beautiful garden space, it will become a source of joy and appreciation for those visiting the Respite House. This community project aligns with Regeneron’s commitment to sustainability and protecting the planet for future generations.”

Catherine Cleary, Co-founder Pocket Forests said, “It was wonderful to plant a pocket forest in the garden at NOVAS Respite House, with the help of a brilliant group of volunteers from Regeneron. We hope it will be a beautiful healing place for people and provide a home for birds, pollinators and other wildlife. Hopefully creating space for nature to thrive will help the great work NOVAS does with the families of people suffering from addiction.”

NOVAS CEO, Una Deasy thanked Regeneron, “for choosing to partner with NOVAS on this beautiful project that has the dual outcome of enhacing our local environment and creating a therapeutic space for people to enjoy and benefit from. We are very grateful.”
