Shine a Light 2022 – there are currently nearly 10,050 people battling homelessness in Ireland.

Families and businesses across Limerick will do a sleep out to raise awareness for homelessness in Ireland

Focus Ireland are encouraging families, individuals, and businesses around the country to join them.

Focus Ireland’s Shine a Light Night 2022 proudly supported by Bord Gáis Energy is taking place on Friday, October 14 where there will be a sleep out at the gardens of the Hunt Museum. Bord Gáis Energy has been working with Focus Ireland as its corporate responsibility partner since 2015. Over the past seven years, the partnership has directly supported over 7,000 families experiencing homelessness or at risk of losing their home.

Focus Ireland have been active since 1985 when they first opened on Temple Bar, Co. Dublin. The charity aim to “advance equality of outcome for individual customers, and social change on the issue of homelessness and sustain a workplace that is diverse and equality-focused.”

The non-profit organisation provides services for people suffering from homelessness across Ireland including in Limerick, Dublin, Sligo, Kilkenny, Waterford, and Cork.

Focus Ireland and Bord Gáis Energy are appealing to business leaders, companies, employees, and individuals to sleep out for one night in their workplace, home, or gardens October to help raise funds for vital homelessness services.

Focus Ireland are encouraging families, individuals, and businesses around the country to join them on Friday, October 14 to help raise vital funds for the charity by sleeping out in solidarity with those experiencing homelessness. 

There are currently 10,568 people experiencing homelessness in Ireland, of which 3,137 are children and 1,385 are families. By giving up just one night, you can help change a lifetime. 

Join Focus Ireland and Bord Gáis Energy in Shine a Light 2022 on Friday, October 14 at The Hunt Museum, Limerick and help raise €1.5m in vital funds to help end family homelessness.
