Jon Kenny, celebrated for his roles in the Irish comic duo d’Unbelievables with co-star Norma Sheehan known for her roles in ‘Damon & Ivor’ and ‘Moone Boy’ star in John B. Keane’s The Matchmaker.

Presented by CTD (City Theatre Dublin), ‘The Matchmaker’ will bring laughter, love, and the charm of rural Ireland to the Limerick theatre stage.

The play follows the efforts of Dicky Mick Dicky O Connor, portrayed by the talented Jon Kenny, and his quest to find love for the lonely hearts of rural Ireland.

Joined by the delightful Norma Sheahan, the duo will bring to life a myriad of characters in this heartwarming comedy.

Using his inimitable way with words and his one sense of ‘devilment’ and wit, John B. Keane delves into the longings, hungers, fears and foibles of this collection of lonely country people creating a marvellously colourful world, taking us back to a simpler time, when phones were few and far between and the only web was one left behind by spiders.

Jon Kenny, celebrated for his roles in the Irish comic duo d’Unbelievables and known outside of Ireland for his guest role in “Father Ted,” with co-star Norma Sheehan known for her roles in ‘Damon & Ivor’ and ‘Moone Boy’ bring their incredible talent to the Lime tree Theatre in this John B. Keane play.

In 2024 City Theatre Dublin celebrate 40 years of production and activity of which the company has toured nationally and internationally and continues to develop projects across a number of media, including Theatre, Film, Radio, Digital Media and Live Music.
