Ireland’s largest annual one-day clean up, Team Limerick Clean-Up (TLC), is today announcing the launch of its brand-new podcast series ‘Cut The Rubbish!’, hosted by media presenter Meghann Scully.

In line with the ethos of TLC and caring for the environment, this podcast explores ways in which we can take simple steps to live more sustainably in everyday life.

The first episode features TV cook, entrepreneur, and owner of Country Munch, Eoin Sheehan, who discusses food waste, growing your own vegetables and provides tips on how to easily plan your meals, even if you don’t like cooking.

Elsewhere in the series, renowned biologist and TV presenter Éanna Ní Lamhna examines biodiversity and how to get kids involved in exploring nature, CEO of VOICE Ireland, Tad Kirakowski, delves into the world of single-use plastics and calls for a ban on disposable vapes and Irish designer Sharon Sweeney talks slow-fashion and the measures in which we can take to have a more sustainable wardrobe.

Speaking about the podcast launch, host Meghann Scully said: “Three things I’m really passionate about are sustainability, broadcasting and Limerick – so to be able to combine all of those things and host this podcast was a dream. Listeners are in for a treat; they’ll learn a lot of interesting stuff about how to live more sustainably, they’ll find the anecdotes to be very relatable, and they will also have a laugh along the way.”

Helen O’Donnell, who founded TLC alongside JP McManus and Paul O’Connell, commented: “This podcast is an exciting venture for TLC, now in its ninth year. The passion among the people of Limerick never dwindles and we’re excited to get this podcast out there and provide some insights from leading voices on topics that are so relevant to all of us. On behalf of the TLC Steering Committee, I want to say a huge thanks to Meghann and all the guests for creating a brilliant and informative series.”

Episode one of ‘Cut The Rubbish!’ with Eoin Sheehan is available on all podcast streaming platforms now. The three remaining podcast episodes will be published every Wednesday, plus a bonus episode will be released after the TLC9 event on Good Friday, March 29th.
