The last two years have been difficult for the Butterfly Ball organisers, who unfortunately had to cancel their Ladies Luncheon in April due to a Covid outbreak.

The annual Foundation’s Butterfly Ball is considered one of the high-profile events on the Mid-West area social calendar, with all money raised going to benefit the Mid-Western Cancer Foundation.

The aim of the Mid-Western Cancer Foundation is to complement and cooperate with the HSE to assist with the regional Cancer Services in areas such as purchasing equipment, funding research, and continuing education that is necessary to support our designated National Cancer Centre but along with that the Foundation also helps to create awareness of cancer in the Mid-West region.

The presence of The Mid-Western Cancer Centre has enabled the majority of patients to be treated locally, thus remaining at home, with support from family, friends, and health professionals within the region.

The number of people who are being diagnosed with cancer in this region is increasing and will continue to increase. In the current environment, the Mid-Western Cancer Foundation needs your support more than ever to help them ensure the continuing management of patients with cancer.

Tickets for the black-tie event, which will raise funds for the Midwest Cancer foundation, are priced at €100 per person and this includes a champagne reception with the Michael John Ryan String Quartet,  a delicious four-course meal and superb entertainment by HIYA events, professional photographs from Michael Martin Photography and music by ‘Free Beer’ with a DJ to follow.

On the night there will be a hugely popular raffle and auction with fantastic spot prizes up for grabs, an excellent event for a good cause.

Tickets for Butterfly Ball 2022 are available from Lisa Tracey at the Mid-Western Cancer Foundation office at the Cancer Information and Support Centre. Tel: 061-210979 or online HERE.
